First Nations Residency

The 2023 Cambridge Australia Scholarships First Nations Writer-in-Residence is Alison J Barton.

The residency is a new fellowship program that offers a unique opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander writer/storyteller working in any form (poetry, fiction, non-fiction, playwriting, criticism, and any other literary form) to spend a period of time at the University of Cambridge. The program will be launched in Michaelmas 2023.

The residency is the result of a collaboration between the Cambridge Australia Scholarships (CAS), the First Nations Australia Writers Network (FNAWN), the Faculty of English, and Clare Hall.
